There is little more exciting for a small child than making a unique discovery. What toddler or young child doesn't dream of finding a real treasure or discovering a world they didn’t know existed? Such a fantasy can become reality at Dino Park in Algar, just a few kilometers from Benidorm. This theme park appeals to those feelings that little ones have, but which adults tend to lose over time.
The idea behind Dino Park is quite simple: to create an environment where young (and old) can learn about the dinosaurs that roamed the Earth so long ago, while also having lots of fun. The park features several life-sized dinosaurs. Some are static, others are computer-controlled, and yet others make sounds.
Some young visitors might be startled to suddenly encounter a giant T-Rex, but that's where mom, dad, grandpa, and grandma come in to quickly reassure them. While playing various games, the guests also learn something about these enormous, strange creatures—their behaviors, eating habits, and living patterns.
A 3D movie provides further explanations, and in a special pavilion, real remains of the extinct animals can be admired. However, for many small children, the most exciting part might be exploring the paleontological courtyard (a giant sandbox) with a bucket, shovel, and brush, searching for dinosaur bones. Once they find one of the carefully hidden "remains," it will almost certainly lead to enthusiastic reactions. And perhaps, when they return home, the list of favorite future careers, which once included firefighter, pilot, and nurse, will end up in the trash, with archaeologist now at the top of the list.
