San Javier in German beer atmosphere

San Javier in German beer atmosphere - Van Dam Estates
10th October 2024 author: Remco van Drie

The large annual Oktoberfest celebrations have made their way from Bavarian Munich to the Spanish coasts. The "beer virus" arrived in San Javier some time ago. The latest edition will be held in 2024 from October 11 to 14 in and around the festival tent at the Recinto Ferial (the fairground).
The successful formula has barely changed over the years: lots of German beer, sausages, hamburgers, and undoubtedly some partygoers appropriately dressed in lederhosen.
The festival in San Javier is supported by a Bavarian brewery. This company has brought a varied selection of their beers to the Costa Cálida. Even gluten- and alcohol-free beers are served.
The drinking festivities are enlivened by musical performances (pop, rock, blues) and flamenco shows, which are scheduled from Friday to Sunday. All proceeds from the festivities will be donated to charity.
Although Oktoberfest is not yet a widespread tradition in Spain, its popularity is growing. One of the first places the beer festival arrived in Spain was Calpe. Since that first event in 1987, it has grown into one of the most appreciated local festivals.
Those in San Javier looking for a different kind of entertainment can head to another annual event on Saturday, October 12. The Flamenco Gala Night will be held at the winter theater in Almansa Park. From 9:00 p.m., it will be a festive evening of singing, dancing, and guitar music.
