The historic hill town of Benissa is located about 10 kilometres from Calpe inland in the mountainous area behind the Cabo de a Noa. Away from the hustle and bustle of the coast, the picturesque old town is surrounded by vineyards, olive and almond groves. There is little tourism and prices are still affordable! Benissa is still as authentic as before. Benissa town is located on the N332 with the center on the church square, Plaza de la Iglesia and Plaza Rey Jaume I. The extensive Old Town is on the other side of the square, away from the N332 and still has old cobbled streets and many 17th and 18th century houses. Benissa has access to the Jalon Valley up to Alcalali on both the Calpe and Teulada sides of the city. The original centre of Benissa is authentic. Wrought iron balconies and window bars adorn the houses.
Benissa also has a coastal area. There you will find the beautifully situated plots with luxury villas and luxurious apartments. The coastal area is separated from the village centre by a quiet, rural area with rolling citrus orchards. Benissa lies at the foot of the Bernia Mountains at 275 meters above sea level and is one of the oldest villages of the Costa Blanca. The village is full of pleasant surprises. While taking a leisurely stroll through the old town you can discover a series of monumental buildings and cultural legacies that are part of the local history.
The coastal road Benissa leads to Moraira and Calpe. A beautiful route to ride by motorbike or convertible all year round is from Calpe via Benissa (coast) to Moraira via the coastal road. It is a paved winding asphalt road with beautiful views. The coastal road Calpe - Moraira follows the coastline with rocks and bays. Most of this road belongs to the municipality of Benissa. Access roads lead to the Benissa urbanizations such as the Avenida de los Garcias to La Fustera and Altamira, the Avenida de la Fustera to Buenavista and Pedramala, and the Avenida del Baladrar to Los Almendros, Baladrar and Montemar and leads to the urbanisations which are located directly on the sea such as Basetes, Patmore, La Lobella, Cala Abocat and Punta Estrella.
