La Marina is located on the Costa Blanca about 20 kilometers from the airport of the capital of the Costa Blanca, Alicante. This idyllic coastal town is ideal for holidays or to live there permanently. With an average daytime temperature of 18 degrees in winter, it is also one of the healthiest places in Europe. The long sandy beaches bordering the dunes with pine trees, are clean and even in high season there is plenty of space. Directly on the Mediterranean Sea, you will find cozy places, where you can eat well for a reasonable amount of good food, coffee or a beer can get. Also in the urbanization on the outskirts of La Marina, you will find in the immediate vicinity several shopping centers, a bodega, bars, restaurants and a medical center. At the weekly market you can find all your fresh products.
Some archaeological finds from the early period of San Fulgencio can still be found. The finds at La Escuera and El Oral date from the sixth to ninth centuries AD and its architectural remains, ceramics and pots, date back to the Punic period. In the archaeological museum of San Fulgencio you can see some finds from Iberian and Greek antiquity. In the historical core is a parish church from the 18th century.
The largest source of income in the region is the tourism sector. Many tourists visit San Fulgencio, mainly staying overnight in bungalows and apartments in the Urbanization La Marina. Many catering establishments and tourist shops can be found there as well as a municipal sports complex. Although San Fulgencio is not located directly on the coast, the beach of the coastal village of La Marina is only a few kilometers away. For more entertainment, tourists need the larger beaches of Guardamar del Segura and Santa Pola and the popular nightlife of Torrevieja in the south and Elche in the north of the municipality. Markets take place daily in various places in the area. In the old core of San Fulgencio there is a market every Tuesday and in the Urbanization La Marina every Thursday and Sunday.
